I love how you give love to looser curls and waves aswell. You don't put one higher than the other. I have waves and big curls not tight. And I've experienced kind of judgement from people saying that it's not curly or naturally curly that I curl it since my hair gets weighed down easily. It's weird and it's hurts my feelings but I'm learning to embrace and love what I have.

This is so encouraging! Most of the curly YT community has big, thick tight curly hair, and there are so many who get catty about those of us with looser curls, telling us we aren't really curlies or only because of the products we use, as if they aren't also using products to get their look. The thing I really appreciated is that she had less volume to begin with and I could see myself more here. I've lost so much of my hair thanks to PCOS, thyroid disorder and perimenopause, so my confidence is knocked. This helps.

One thing I would love is to help more of us learn how we can do these brush styles ourselves. It's harder to define when we are on our own.

As a coarse, thick, wavy girl, I would love to see a tutorial geared towards more of that next time!

Yay thank you for validating that it's okay to skip conditioner in certain cases!!

I have fine hair that is easily weighed down and using a leave-in conditioner as a rinse out or skipping conditioner all together gives me the best hair days!

Bring on the wavy content and styling real people 😄 (Especially if you could go a video on styling grey hair, or kids hair! These are often overlooked)

Hey y'all please don't forget to like this video, Mel really teaches us how to love our own hair instead of trying to change it. Personally, I didn't know my hairs capabilities until I started learning from Mel. I just know that there are more people who need her. Let's like so they get to see it

MELL, it is so good to see you in the salon with a wavy person! I spent the last week thinking that it was time for me to give up on wavy hair after over three years of using variations on the CGM. I was actually wishing that Mell would see some wavy people and model for us what was possible for waves and when to just give up on waves. This video is just what I needed to see to show me more techniques to try before I give up on having wavy hair. THANK YOU!

Yes, please, more wavy hair content!
I'm sensitive to fragrances, therefore limited in the products I can use, so learning skills becomes that much more important.

This might sound dramatic but I really need these wavy videos. I'm a wavy and I've been having such a hard time accepting my hair. I'm mixed race but have my Irish mother's skintone and (I thought) straight, fizzy hair. All my brothers got my dad's side big, dark, curls and olive skin. I've always felt like I don't look like I belong in my own family. Realising it's not frizz, it's actually some of my dad's texture coming through, has been life changing in how I see myself but a lot of the curly community seems to exclude waves. When I see you caring for wavy hair like this, I feel a better about myself. So thank you because I needed that.

I’m not a wavy but I still enjoyed watching this. Love this format, bring on more hair models with different lengths and curl patterns ! ❤

I've tried and tried and tried this type of technique (sectioning & brushing right side up) and it's the messiest, most complicated thing ever. In the videos it always looks so straightforward but in real life if you have a lot of fine hair it's impossible to part, brush and scrunch without getting it tangled with the next section etc. Takes forever and I end up re brushing everything once I have product everywhere because it never falls perfectly in place no matter how hard I try to properly separate and style each section. Upsidedown is a quick second, doesn't look perfect and evenly distributed but it gets more volume and if you wash, style and diffuse upsidedown it really simplifies things.

Not criticizing the video, I love Mell and I've been following her for years, but in real life this is not a quick, beginner routine. Doing everything upsidedown it takes me a full hour from the moment I start shampooing to the moment I stop diffusing at like 70% and it doesn't look perfect, it's neither defined nor beach-y sexy but the alternative is adding a good extra 30m to get a half-assed job. I wish it was really simple but it's not 😢 if anybody has tips and tricks to do the right side up, definition & volume method without taking forever to style, getting all the sections tangled, taking forever to section, style and diffuse I'm all ears 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Mel, I am about 85% transitioned to my gray hair. Maybe you could do a curly gray hair tutorial since some grays are frizzy.

More wavy hair tutorials, please! All your videos are so helpful! Would love to see a tutorial for typically men's hairstyles with wavy/curly hair.

Yes, more wavy hair! Girl in video is beautiful. Thank you for this. Suggestion: DIY layered haircut for wavies. Would love that! (Got lots of hair and yearn for guidance on this, especially the layering part to rid some weight and add shape and movement.)
