5 Great Indie Racing Games You May Have Missed!

If you’ve grown tired of the super-serious world of sim racing then why not have a go at some fun and friendly racing games?

We’ve collated a list of five independently made games that put the ‘fun’ in ‘fundamentally not a super-serious-sim’, including Super Woden GP 2, Rush Rally Origins, New Star GP, Distance and Horizon Chase 2.

Providing a beautiful palate cleanser to today’s rather po-faced brand of simulators, these indie racers focus on the simplistic pleasure of chucking a car around at ridiculous speeds, usually accompanied by a bombastically retro soundtrack.

I looove Super Woden GP 2, it's such a fun game and has a lot of customization too! Circuit Superstars is also great fun, hard to get online matches, but playing with a group of friends is a blast!

Rush Rally 3 should be on the list. It's like Colin Mcrae Rally 2005 but with updated physics and customizable liveries. It has career mode and wheel supports too!

Just wanted onto the Horizon Chase 2 section.

The game is developed by Aquiris, a Brazilian game studio, the main inspiration for the game is Top Gear, a series of racing videogames that started on the SNES and was made by the same developers behind the Lotus games. Top Gear was huge in South America, I played it all the time when I was a little kid on my SNES, Aquiris are so fond of those games that they actually got the same composer from the original game, Barry Leitch, to make the music for Horizon Chase 1 & 2.

I played a lot of the first Horizon Chase back when it first released on Android, it's a great game, I have yet to try 2, but I'll definitely get it soon, sorry for the random tangent, I just wanted to yap a little bit about a childhood treasure of mine.

Great video, I try to keep up with all the new racing games coming out but there was a few here I didn't know about, they're going straight to my wishlist.

I think the best thing about this video is you at the beginning saying "don't get me wrong, I absolutely love sim racing" as you are 5 seconds clear of former Champ Car and Le Mans driver Charles Zwolsman. :D

Rush Rally Origins needs the Circular Car Sprite Boundary box made less visible ... once you have seen it you cannot unsee it 😢

Rush Rally 1 is old
But Rush Rally Origins is the Remastered Version of it
