About Harvey's guest:

Today’s special guest, Victor Garber, is a beloved and highly acclaimed actor who has brought us hundreds of memorable performances in a career spanning over 5 decades.

On the big screen, you’ve seen him in great movies including “Godspell”, “Sleepless in Seattle”, “Jeffrey”, “The First Wives Club”, “Titanic”, “External Affairs”, “Legally Blonde”, “Milk”, and “Argo”, just to name a few.

On television, he’s appeared in a whole slew of shows including “Eli Stone”, “Deception”, “Web Therapy”, “Tales of the City”, “Power”, “D.C.’s Legends of Tomorrow”, “The Orville”, “The Flash”, “Family Law” - and of course, we will always remember him as “Jack Bristow” in “Alias”, for which he received 3 Emmy Award nominations.

Our guest has also co-starred in many terrific TV movies and miniseries including “Charlie’s Aunt”, “Liberace: Behind the Music”, “The Legendary Life of Ernest Hemingway”, “Dieppe”, “Liberty: The American Revolution”, “Life with Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows”, “The Music Man”, “The Last Templar”, and so many more. Our guest has also had an illustrious career onstage.

He’s appeared in 16 Broadway shows and received 4 Tony Award Best Actor nominations, for his work in “Damn Yankees”, “Lend Me a Tenor”, “Little Me” and “Deathtrap”. He also starred in the 1998 Tony Award winning Best Play, “Art”, as well as in “Hello Dolly”, “Present Laughter”, “Sweeney Todd”, “They’re Playing Our Song” and many more great shows. The list of accolades and awards this man has received is truly mind-blowing. In addition to the 4 Tony Award nominations I just mentioned, he’s been nominated for 6 Emmy Awards - 3 for his work in “Alias”, 2 for his guest appearances in “Will & Grace” and “Frasier”, and 1 for his portrayal of Judy Garland’s husband Sid Luft in “Life with Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows”.

He won a Critics Choice Award for his work in “Milk”. He and his fellow cast members have been nominated for THREE Screen Actors Guild Awards for “Titanic”, “Milk” and “Argo”, and they WON for “Argo”.

And if all of that weren’t enough, our guest has been nominated for 6 Online Film and Television Association Awards, 4 Gold Derby Awards, 3 Gemini Awards, 3 Canadian Screen Awards, 2 Teen Choice Awards, and believe me, I’m just scratching the surface. In 2018 our guest received the Theatre World John Willis Award for Lifetime Achievement.

And as a proud Canadian, I must mention that in 2013, our guest received a Star on the Canadian Walk of Fame. And in 2022, he was made an Officer of the Order of Canada.

I loved this interview, Harvey! And I'm a Family Law paralegal so I sort of can relate to your comments about you being a judge and lawyer. Very cool. I've been a fan of Victor's since he played one of my heroes, Thomas Andrews. And I screamed when I heard him say that he and Rainer are going to Ireland for Christmas! They HAVE to visit Belfast! This was such a great interview. I've seen him on stage and I've gotten to meet him a few times and he's the best. He's had such an amazing career. Thank you for giving him the credit he deserves. Also, Alias was the best.

A true Canadian treasure. I remember when he did ‘Titanic, ’ thinking, “A great director, who was born and raised here, and a great Canadian actor. And then getting to play Canadian Ken Taylor in ‘Argo.’ More importantly, he’s done it as a gay man, even if he wasn’t always advertising the fact. He just always been a dependable, humble guy—the very definition of Canadian! Another great interview, Harvey! Much like Victor, you’re dependable, humble and honest!

Mr Garber is genuinely great. He looked very emotional at times, especially at the beginning and when Harvey summarized his illustrious career. I wonder what he is gonna sing at the Godspell documentary... Please let it be Save The People ! I loved that he said he was more used to giving than accepting. A sign of humbleness..

Harvey you ask the best questions. I love that Victor talks about London On. The O’keefe centre, Godspell, folk groups . I loved Godspell and had it on repeat during my teenage years. You can take the boy out of Canada but you can’t take Canada out of the boy😊
