I think my issue is Clara was like the counter character and Yunli being Physical Destruction is kinda shady. They could have gone with so many other things and not that combination.

Honestly rather than being sad about Clara suffering such a direct powercreep, I think the true question no one's making is WHY they gave Yunli a kit that's clearly recycled from another existing character... like even Aventurine who has a few skills similar to Gepard still has a few things that make him unique, but Yunli? Literally everything about her is copied. Are they becoming lazy or without ideas?

I genuinely feel sad for both of them. Clara didn't deserve to be powercrept, and Yunli did deserve a more unique and original kit.

As someone who just started playing the game a couple months ago and got multiple Clara's off lost 50/50's, from the departure, and my first few standard banner 5 stars, and made her my first main dps, Yunli's existence is frustrating. Clara doesn't get any worse by another character existing, but it's going to feel bad playing a character that plays exactly the same, fills the exact same role and performs worse when I could just pull for Yunli. Feels like a waste of resources invested. At least it looks like she'll use the same relics.

Depends on how you look at it. The fact that they're so similar can also be seen as a reason to not bother pulling for Yunli if you already have Clara since it's too much overlap. Might as well save your jades and spend them on someone else instead.

You could also argue that it's possible to run both Clara and Yunli together, presumably with Robin, that way they could both counter together at the same time. However, this will only work situationally as it requires you to be fighting enemies doing blast or AoE attacks to actually hit both of them so it's not a consistently viable strat.

I think they want to test us. How weak are we to fall for such a direct attack on another unit? And if people response in pulling for her...this will continue. Gacha games always test our limits...and sadly people and gaming nowadays are okay with paying to get nothing.

I mean, MoC buffs that buff Yunli are probably going to benefit Clara too, so even if Yunli's better than Clara, she isn't going to make Clara completely obsolete

I have an E3 Clara because of so many failed 50/50's. Even if Clara is powercrept, her eidolons will probably still make her more viable than an E0 Yunli.

You could use Robin with penacony set too, to buff both of them. Just imagine that in the pure fiction that advances enemies when you hit them.

If we look statistically into 1.0 character's kit (the standard banner ones), they work kinda like 4 stars, the 4 stars' Eidolons feels like essential parts of their kit that were taken out and turned into an Eidolon, while limite 5 star character's Eidolons feels like an extras that really ramp up that unit to oblivion. So, the impression i have is that Standard banner characters, were designed in a way that even with their E6s they are basically a limited E0 character. Props to those you can actually take good advantage of, like Gepard and Bronya even at their E0 they have incredible value, but if you look into their kit, even with E6 they don't feel like much. Which is natural since you can get them at anytime in any pull you make.

Personally, i don't think a limited character powercreeping a standard one is anything concerning, and let's not forget that many turn based gacha games do release updates with upgrades to older units that works kind of a rework to their kit. For example, they could add a special ascension that unlocks more traces and level them up to 90 and etc.

The good thing is that anyone who isn't pulling for Yunli, but has Clara, will have an easy time with the end-game content they release catered around Yunli _(as they always release end-game content around catered to the latest character)_

Another point to make is that you could potentially use them together. Sure, Yunli will steal some of Clara's regular counters with her taunt, but during Clara's Ultimate it doesn't matter who gets hit. Counter attacks for days.

We're going to see more of this going forward. Sparkle and Bronya, Aventurine and Gepard, and now Yunli and Clara; only this time their kits are incredibly similar, and they're even the same Type. Still, I wouldn't be surprised to see a limited version of Welt, Yanqing, or Himeko in the future.

I hate that Yunli is physical. Like she looks and attacks like a fire character so why didn’t they make her fire so that way she wouldn’t completely replace her since then she would be Clara but fire.

So on the bright side, any content thatll boost Yunli for this patch, Clara will benefit from as well. But yeah Yunli will powercreep Clara, but its not like Clara will be bad or anything, its the same playstyle its just Yunli has better multipliers. But I still think Clara can hold her own during this short Yunli favored end game buffs and people underrate Clara, so I think this could be her time to shine

I'd be fine with Yunli if she were any other element. But making her another Physical Counter character is just lazy.

you can also say in a vacuum Clara actually get buffed. Herta shop Lc was her best in slot for dmg and Dan hangs only in theory where you use basic atk in a specific rotation which in practices is not that good especially after getting e2. So Positivly viewed Clara finally getting a strong lc which is cheaper to pull for then e0s1 yunli. S0 yunli will not be that big of a different to Clara pretty much a cycle while also easier to build (cdmg in kit Clara could never) and better overall kit mechanic (being able to "counter" without enemies attacking).
Btw. am not tying to say that yunli is bad, I see her better than dan hang and jingliu but worst then Acheron and ff. That is what a Better Clara is
