This is the best anime opening of all time! Change my mind! It has ghibli vibe to it, especially Laputa: Castle in The Sky. Magic Knight Rayearth op is close second!

1:10 When I first saw this at a meeting of the Rutgers Animation Club (sorry about the implicit name-dropping, dear Gen-X "otaku"), it was a double-whammy. At once, I imagined an English dub with lyrical reinterpretation performed by the Miami Sound Machine AND learned that Hideaki Anno' was tipping his hat (a wheel-cap?) to one of his earlier deals as an animator.
