Since I have 3 friends (i'm a guy, 2 girls, and another guy)... we usually set ourselves up to save the victim of the date. So for example, when one of us has a first date, we invite the other 2 (doesn't matter who), and when we're not enjoying the date, the other 2 come in with some sap story of god knows what. Then we just switch off for every other date. Works everytime :D
