Do you take the Electrical Safety of your home seriously? If yes then this video is for you! In this tutorial, we will take you through the ins and outs of earthing or grounding in a household. This video is essential for homeowners, as it discusses the importance of electrical safety, including how to test earthing with a multimeter and how to test earthing using a bulb.

We'll delve into what earthing is and why it's crucial for your home. Earthing, also referred to as grounding, connects your home's electrical system to the earth, offering a low-resistance path for fault currents, thus protecting your appliances from damage and ensuring your safety from electric shocks and fires.

Sahil will guide us on two methods of how to test earthing at home. The first method uses a multimeter, and the second employs a simple household bulb. Detailed step-by-step instructions will be provided to ensure you accurately gauge whether your home's earthing is adequate.
Remember, adequate earthing can protect your favourite appliances like computers, TVs, and refrigerators from damage due to power surges, lightning strikes, or short circuits. It's not only about protecting your appliances; it's about ensuring your family's safety.

In this video, we also offer an insight into Axis, a leading manufacturer and supplier of a wide range of Earthing materials like Earth Rods, Earth Plates, Strips, Clamps, Earth Pits, and other accessories. Our solutions are utilized for Substations Earthing, Solar Earthing, as well as for residential and commercial structures.

We're keen on hearing your thoughts, feedback, and any queries you might have, so don't forget to drop a comment below. Learn how to test your home's earthing today and ensure the safety of your family and appliances.

Thank you for watching and we hope you liked our earthing rod manufacturing process, please feel free to share your feedback in the comment section.

Should the circuit breaker be on or off when testing on sockets?

I'm not sure if this test is precise, is it not better to test the resistance (ohm) of the earthing?

Do the numbers you show toward the end of the vid...as to proper / improper numerical readings ( 3:35-3:50)....apply only to the Euro standard 220V home systems?....or do you use the same values for US-based 120v home systems?

How the voltage between neutral & earthing definitely shows up the quality of earthing?

What does it mean if I got a voltage of 64 volts between the neutral and earth?

My MGVCL Electricity meter shows 259 voltage. And when the fan is on the LED bulb also remains on in dimmed condition without switchingon . Why it is so? Please reply.

I did your bulb thing and it tripped my circuit box. I think this is a good thing?

Our floor is very hot even in this winter. We are not getting what is the problem. Can it be because of not doing earthing?

Instead of trying the light bulb method why can't you just simply measure the voltage between live and earth with the multimeter??

what if my neutral to earth is 0.2v, was that normal?

The lightbulb technique shows the earthing is fine, however the multimeter technique shows a different value.

Having a village between neutral and earth does not necessarily means that your grounding is faulty

🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ Please take down this video. Creating an earth fault what a wonderful idea. Please people don't try this light bulb method as it is sending voltage from directly from live terminal to the earth terminal. This means with all the metal appliances now becomes LIVE unless you have protection for earth fault like an RCD to trip or cut off the breaker as a form of safety. If it does not trip then you have no earth fault or additional protection at your residence.

Imagine you don't have any earth fault protection device (breaker) then your kid is using the microwave or a standing fan or any metal appliance the body of this appliance now becomes live and receive an electric shock.
