This video shows the former East German border. The East German regime went to extraordinary lengths to stop working age people from leaving, in this video, I give an explanation of what was put in place to stop people departing from this socialist 'paradise'.

Very interesting.
I lived in West Berlin in the early 1980's... Very close to the border. I came back in the Summer of 1990 and saw what was in the other side of "my" border Wall. I went for a walk in the border area and there there were two walls with a very very wide "sandbox" with a road in the middle. There was maybe 150 meters between the two walls

I’m 100% German. 25%, named König, came from one of the two principalities Schwarzburg (I don’t know which) that are now part of Thuringia. I’m very interested to know more.
