One cool trick with the 26+6 is reserving the expansion until arrival - it lets me stow my parka when I arrive in the tropics.

The 26 is my new daily and a perfect travel bag. 4 out of 5 trips so far I've been able to expand, fill the bag, and then use the expansion super like a giant compression zipper to bring the whole thing back down to personal item size. I still wish the front pocket had some stretch to stash items at TSA but otherwise this thing has been perfect! Thanks for the excellent content.

I totally agree with your comments regarding the larger zippered pocket inside the lid. With the help of a local bag repairer I was able to make my own modifications using the inner zippered liner for an old small carry on American Tourister spinner I already had. Works fantastically. I will see if I can upload pics.

I just got my 26+6 today, and the bottom padding on the back doesn't sit flush either. However, it doesn't bother me. I purchased the backpack based on your review, and I'm very happy with it. Thank you so much!

Love the vid! I got the new 26+6 a few weeks back but haven't had a chance to use it yet. I prefer the new style over the old with the one, large compartment. Seems like the best all-around option for a personal item only bag!

I fly 2-3 times a week for work and I'm loving the updated 26+6. My only complaint would be that the straps are uncomfortable walking extended distances with a 17 lb loadout. I really wish they had more padding or perhaps came out at an angle like the 35L version. I'm thinking of giving the sojourn porter 30 a try for a bit more comfort. I do have a frontier gowild pass kicking in on sep 1st and want to stay within their limits so I can make use of that when available. Judging by your review on the porter I think I'll be gtg as long as I don't over pack.

I love the channel and you've been a tremendous help on my onebag journey. I'm able to fit everything I need to live for weeks at a time (with sink washes every 3-4 days) into 26L. I even carry an inflatable backpacking sleep pad/pillow and sleeping bag liner for airport layovers.

As a result of your review, I picked up the 26+6 Daylite pack for a recent trip. This bag is excellent! Like yours, mine also had the seam along the luggage pass through sleeve. I'm 6' tall and didn't feel the seam at all as I walked around the airport.

never thought of putting peanuts to measure sizes lol nicely done.

I got a 26+6 and had to return it because the luggage pass through ridge kept digging into my back. It looks like the overlapped stitching is a design choice and not a manufacturing defect.

Thanks. I watched your first video which was great, but then after looking around I had a few new questions which this video answered. You read my mind! Just ordered the 26+6 from REI...

I love the scientific approach you bring to these reviews. Well done, much appreciated.

I have the 35L and love it and it also fit under the seat — I also tried the 26+6 but it’s way too small for my frame and looks comical on me. 😅

Thanks for the comparison on 26+6 old vs 26+6 new and this one I guess after you travelled to Vegas. I've used the 26+6 old for a yr plus. You convinced me to buy the new version. Mine hasn't arrived yet. I'm similarly worried about the half-split in the back panel. The old version is uncomfortable to carry at full load, around 7kg. And yes, removal of the front packing cube is a bummer. But I welcome the 100g weight savings and the zippered front pocket. The half panel split actually makes it easier to slot on to a wheeled bag. Fully loaded, the old version can't fit. It feels like by slotting it on, you would snap your laptop. I actually stitched a small packing cube to my old version's front pocket. Bought the new one today for 57usd. Couldn't resist. 😂
