The Carter Family Strumming Pattern (folk/country picking & strumming style)

Sometimes I'll extract little clips from the five years of weekly lessons that I've been posting on YouTube. Here's one from those archives: This is a strumming pattern that a lot of folk and country players use, such as the Carter Family. For example, Johnny Cash uses this strumming pattern in "Walk the Line." It's great practice because we have to precisely pluck the roots the chords and also strum.
