ℹ️ About the Episode: The process of getting a new RV dialed in can be stressful at times. It's important to remember that all the problems come together right out of the gate. Luckily, the fridge fix from last week worked great! You'll have to watch this episode to find out why marinara sauce was splattered all over the floors! We used to call these "dips," but with more experience, we just call it RVing. We know there's going to be a lot of commentary about the Airstream dragging. We knew this would happen. Not all Airstreams need to be lifted, but with the tail swing of the 30' model combined with the height of the F250... it seems to happen at least once on each leg. We'll be visiting Ronnie soon, and a 3" lift is first on our list of mods. In fact, a lift is required for the Airkrafters on-board generator installation. Candidly, working through these issues is actually fun to share. It’s like that great line from Kevin Costner, who plays a rescue swimmer for the Coast Guard in the movie The Guardian: "The only difference between you and the victim is the attitude in which you enter the water.” We knew when selling our dial-in Flying Cloud and purchasing a new-to-us Airstream that we'd spend the first month (or two) working through problems and learning which cabinets fly open and just when to duck your head. Looking back at all our RV adventures, we don't remember the “dips” as much as we remember the places and people we've visited.

I've been watching your videos for years, and I want to comment on how you guys speak to each other: You guys speak so nicely to each other! No sarcasm in the name of humour; no meanness that we see so often. That's one of the reasons I keep coming back for more KYD! Thanks for the content, and "hi" from South Africa!

Hi from Spring Lake, MI! FYI, the cabinet latches come in 5 lb and 10 lb versions. The 10 lb latch might be better for your cabinet, as it requires more force to open. It’s part number 381228: Catch grabber door latch, 10 lb. — available in Woodland Airstream’s online parts department. It worked for our large cabinet door that houses our tabletops.

Happy trails!

Fun story...just yesterday I was changing the converter behind the electrical panel (because we got lithium now) and I found traces of fish sauce that was spilled in the pantry 3 years ago. Looking forward to your future marinara discoveries.

In our motorhome we use the washer/dryer (which we don't have) cabinet as a pantry (yes, we pack heavy on food :) )
So ou rule is: the heavier the thing the lower it goes...
Cans and heavy jars always at the bottom...
May not be convenient but ot works !

Nothing like a pay phone booth. Awesome little adventure. They sure grow tall on someone's side of the family. Love the red hair. Nice to meet Marc's Mother as amazing. So happy to see Charlie and wish I could give him a big hug as he is so precious. Enjoyed watching and look forward to next week. Love y'all

Little tip! The basket you had on the shelf that flew open. If you put a clingy mat underneath, it would grip enough to prevent it from sliding and banging into the cabinet door. Or maybe little rubber nubs nubs under the basket would also work.

Thank you for keeping RVing real by showing the pasta sauce and glass on the floor...and for modeling a great reaction to the situation.

Pay phone in a phone booth...THAT WAS HILARIOUS!!! I still have a rotary wall phone in my kitchen. When my kids were in grade school, 20 years ago, they would bring their friends over to show them. They would ask "how do you use this thing?" Oh how things have changed.

At Graceland, the VIP tickets can be a real benefit if you come on a day when it is packed, like during Elvis week or other special events that draw big crowds. I learned this during our visit a few years back from one of the gate attendants. I was going to buy the VIP experience and she said "Honey, save your money", advising the light crowds made one of the lessor packages the better buy, so your instincts were spot on.

I love the fact you set up camp with your Airstream using the cheapest chock blocks known to man. That is awesome 😂😂😂

I stayed at the Peabody for 4 nights back in January 1999, while attending a training seminar. Loved watching the duck parade(s). Weather was beautiful for the first couple day and then tornado warnings all night long the next 2 nights. They ended the seminar 1 day early and sent us all home. I love your nicknames for Trish. My favorite of all time came from an "Archie" comic book back in the mid-sixties when Archie referred to his girlfriend as "lamb's lettuce"!!! It has stuck with me for the last 60 years!!! You two are the best!!!!
