How to splice a 3 string rope into a cargo net

1 - take measurement of the vertical rope (whichever you desire how long the width)

2 - open 1 string and insert the horizontal rope, no need to pull, leave it like that.

3 - take measurement of the horizontal rope (whichever you desire how long the length)

4 - open 1 string and insert the vertical rope.

5 - pull both ends. Rope already spliced.

Hi there, I noticed that there is a gap where you place the 2nd rope into before you pull it. Do you need that gap ? Can you put the 2nd rope right above the first splice ? I’m working on a cargo net but my splices slip when pressure is put onto the center. I’m trying to figure out what I did wrong.
