Ever since Gabby Petito's tragic story unfolded in front of the world. Seemingly well-meaning psychic mediums and paranormal investigators have been trying to make contact with her spirit. But is this ethical? Is it hurting people? What seems to be the problem? Find out in this video.

It takes guts to speak out like this. I applaud you 👏 I used to believe these videos until I broke them down and did my own research on the equipment. Glad I'm not the only one who thinks this way, great video 😁

The MAIN creator of this FAKE BS movement **cough, Huff, cough** has been caught several times blatantly using sound bytes from movie clips or interviews, adding reverb to it, and passing it off as "spirit communication". And it's SO sad that their blind faithful completely believes it, sends money, and attacks ANYONE who dares to use actual rational thought and logic. I LOVE this video! THANK YOU for this and doing it respectfully - better than I could have! lol You just gained another sub!!!

I was appalled when I logged into YT and had a selection of spirit box sessions with Gabby. Anyone else notice how many of these have broken/odd sounding responses? Then there is one (probably more) that is clear as a bell and sounds exactly like a conversation...that one infuriated me! You're absolutely amazing and you have a new fan! Kudos to you my friend.

I'm a professional audio/video editor and you're absolutely right, it's VERY easy to fake any of this stuff if you know what you're doing, especially when there's an easily accessible source of voice recordings to use for celebrities.

It's crazy to think these deceased spirits are just doing interviews with every box turned on

Thank you for telling it like it is! I have a paranormal investigation group and it sickens me to see that sort of behavior! This field isn’t about ratings or popularity. It is about helping those who need help and not charging people for it.

I have two more comments to add. First, I had a fiance who died when I was 21. I had a tape that he had made me quite a while before he died, which I found later on. I literally couldn't listen to it, ever. To have heard his voice again would have just devastated me. Even now, 30 years later, if I still had that tape & it worked, I still wouldn't play it. Putting people's families & loved ones through that is so wrong.
Second thing, I watch a paranormal investigation group, The Fourman Brothers, who do try to help some families find their missing loved ones in one of their series'. They are searching for people who are missing, & presumed to be dead, but they are doing so at the request of the family. They are not expecting the spirit of the deceased to actually communicate with them, but they will try to connect with other spirits who might know something about the situation. They don't do this for money or attention, it's actually heartbreaking to watch these shows. They share any info they might learn with police, although I don't believe the police are usually very interested in what they find. The Brothers have even brought in a team with a cadaver dog in at least one episode. They are doing this to try to help bring closure to the families, not for the media.

It’s ridiculous how people are faking this just for views… My heart hurts just thinking about the pain the families grieving are going through. Until a case is closed or even okay to discuss like this by the family it feels wrong to make content like this. I can sort of understand it if a person truly believes they’re contacting a spirit but actually isn’t, not even necessarily for views but just for their own personal curiosity, but if someone is just faking this just for views is sad and unethical. I don’t like it.

Thank you for sharing this. New sub here. I'm so glad you confirmed to me what I've been witnessing and feeling about these spirit boxes. Ytube's "true" crime community's creators are raking in the big bucks. I have tried to watch these "sessions" I can never make it past 5 mins because I know they're frauds. I have made the same mistake by calling them out and then was attacked by their subs. You've given me excellent advice. I actually feel a huge sigh of relief. Thank you!

Furthermore, why are the living just sitting around like zombies, in an attempt to interact with the dead? We should be celebrating the lives of the deceased by actually living the one life that we were given. Sadly, that is something that the dead no longer has the opportunity to do.

Thank you for this much needed reminder. I too was about to go down that rabbit hole… even though it felt wrong. Luckily I saw this video.
