Another Wealden wonder undertaken on a warm, initially cloudy, July day. This one was a 9.5 mile variant that was mainly new terrain to this walker.
It was a classic Wealden walk of tranquil pastures and woodland, but, at this time of year, without the mud, much bird-song and many babbling brooks.
Due to trains being diverted on the way down, and delaying this walker's arrival by an hour, there was no lunch stop, and the only church on the walk, at Burwash, is too early in.
The former home of Rudyard Kipling, Batemans, is passed, as is the present home of some recent Euromillions winners, Socknersh Manor.
Another very decent walk today, with good paths, though poor stiles, and great scenery. A very different story in the wetter months though!

Thank you once again amib for some gorgeous Wealden views. Do hope you can get out and about again soon to give us another treat but take care if these predictions of soaring temperatures come to pass next weekend ! Even my grey and glowering Pennines are starting to look parched !! Thanks so much

You are legend Mr amib. My 4 de ESO (Year 11s) have been with you wandering around your beautiful English countryside. We are all on school holidays now. You were right about having less birdsong as we go into summer!!! Thank you very much. I look forward to seeing more senderismo and take care.

Dear amib, sorry for being a pain, but last night on the weather, it said that you lot were getting weather of 40 degrees...so take care and lots of water on your North Downs trip. Whilst I'm at it, do you remember being in some woods about 2017, where a stone commemorated Catherine of Aragon's meeting with prince Arthur? Last week was Rudyard Kiplings's house! Absolutely brilliant. Thank you.

I took a chance and did this walk today. I know it's not the best idea to do these wealden walks in winter but hadn't rained for a couple of weeks. Luckily it was ok under foot. Anyway a wonderful walk.
