The Pentagon said Thursday it was tracking a Chinese spy balloon flying high over the United States, passing over areas where there are sensitive airbases and nuclear missiles in underground silos. However, military officials have decided not to shoot the balloon down citing safety fears.

Finally seeing US POWER directly challenged. Next will be a ballestic missile flying over us or a Chinese armed drone hovering in us air space

It seems like China is testing the strength and capability of our radar and other tracking systems. The decision to not shoot it down is a severe miscalculation. If one of China's fighter jets made it that deep into our airspace, we would've shot it down. We could've at least sent a jet to shoot a round or two to at it to make it descend slowly.

Now China has exactly what they wanted: Accurate data on some of NORAD's tracking capabilities. They also gave us a glimpse into their mindset and intelligence.
