I got to tell u bud. I have been a loyal shimano rod and reel guy for years but during icast this year I got an inkling to try some new rods and I went with the Cashion icon series holy hell. Completely different in all the rite ways. Now I'm rethinking everything I thought I knew about rods

I'm in Florida, and I use 30lb braid, w.a 6ft8 medium action rod. On a blackmax reel.for a bfs setup, I love it! The gear is all walmart.and I've landed good 4, and 5lb bass with it.ive used 10lb floro, mono, and the braid is awsome for a finesse flipping rig, and a unpegged slim senco worm rod. I have e used shallow spool reels in the past, and I don't need that for this application. But I'll say it's held up to mega abuse, and performs great for me. Ozark trail im7 rod.6.4 to 1 reel, and 6ft 8 w 30lb Berkley big game braid. Amazing paired w 12 lb floro to my willowvibe chatterbait for offshore ledge fishing. Thx JC, I'd love to try a Cashion rod! And will get one from tackle warehouse this xmas!

The sunline vhard is interesting. I just started experimenting with braid and leaders. Finding a leader material like that would be awesome

BFS being new makes me laugh. We have been using 6-8# mono and casting 1/16 oz Texas Rigged worms and 1/8-1/4 oz crankbaits and Spinnerbaits since the 80’s My old Lews BB1 never had a problem casting it

As far leader knots, what knot do you use for heavy braid to leader and what knot do you use for light braid to leader?

A real BFS nut (I am not one) would laugh at you for calling this rod a BFS rod. They are looking at casting one gram.

"... Kastking even did"🤣🤣🤣 I'd argue kastking is One of the "bigger" brands that have brought bfs into the mainstream in the US. The big boys are just jumping on the bandwagon
