However, I like and I use British grammar rules and spellings, because that is what I learned at my English school. I am from a Portuguese speaking country called Mozambique 🇲🇿 in Africa. Years ago I was in India (I am form Germany) and I was immersed in English all day. But I didn't want to acquire an Indian accent so I tightly stuck to the RP I learned at school - so I hoped. Some weeks in my stay (which improved my vocabulary by tons!) I met a couple from London and we were talking about how fast India was developing. I was lacking a word and asked them for it - and they looked bewildered at me and told me how surprised they were when I told them I was from Germany, untel then they were sure I was from London also - from Kensington to be precise. Well, THAT made my day!
