I just realised why I am constantly getting out of my Self Improvement Journey. It is because after doing the hard part of the day I always 'reward' myself by scrolling through shorts.. I remember the happiness of the task, but I don't even care about whatever the fuck I am watching. I realised how stupid I am 😭

Goals :
Study 2 hour everyday
Workout : Pilates, core mostly, learn pushups and pull ups and self defence
Finish the comic : at least the story

1 clear goal, instant feedback and the ability to scale difficulty and you can enter flow State

2 at the beginning there will always be a struggle before you enter the flow
With practice the struggle will decrease
But instant gratification will increase the struggle

Dude. I tried to get in the flow state to finish an HA for which I literally had stuff prepped, I had to just. copy. down. and I kept getting distracted by random things and my brain went in thousand direction every like two words. I'm really excited to take this up as a challenge to train my brain to focus more! Great video, I learnt a lot from it :D

I legit gave my phone to my mum today and asked her to hide it till June 26 (I have an entrance test on that day). And I still wasn't able to focus or get into flow state. I open this lecture on youtube and then get distracted by the most random stuff. Like yk when you don't have reasons to procrastinate, you get distracted by the most lame stuff. Well, that's that. I was looking for videos and stuff to focus while being distracted and came across this video. I've been on self improvement since like, 2 months and that's cuz I watched one of your videos at random too. I can't imagine what path I'd be taking if I didn't choose self improvement. Thanks a lot man.

I think this may be my favorite video of yours ever ruff 💗
The ultimate happiness is when actions towards your goals feel good. Better than instant gratification. Also, I made the quote above, it helps me when someone distracts me and it makes me mad, but then I remind myself to move past it. (be stronger than others 💪, resilience is when you don't let circumstances define you.) Remember that anytime you are happy, you are in the flow state. And it is easy to get there 💗💪

ruff, thanks again for the video. i think for most people( including me) flow is like the sun. it keeps coming back and going away( like in the video where the sun kept coming back and kept taking it, s light away as well). we need the flow to be like water, constantly" flowing" and just present in every single task we do.

i'm just going to correct a thing here, flow is a state of focus and focus doesn't work like turning your lights on/off. getting distracted by a thought or other things won't reset your focus. this is misleading so i hope @ItsMeRuff reads this

to explain this, focus works like sleep, you can't just sleep when you're really active or when you just finished a run, you gradually turn your mind and body to relaxed mode so u can sleep, and focus works the same way.
at first, you can be easily distracted by anything, but as time passes and you avoid distractions and put your attention back to to what you're doing, you're gradually entering a state of high focus.
so even if you get distracted by a thought or something, you won't leave flow, you just need to put your attention back again to what you're doing.

and also, not everything is flow since it is an expression of what you can perform. if u want to learn a material or a skill, flow isn't for you. it's deliberate practice.
