Looks like Turbine missed a couple of places where Asheron's Call still existed

Not the first MMO I played but definitely the one I remember the most. Hoping a reboot is in the works with better graphics, toned down XP system, and more contemporary elements. I know Turbine could do it. I'd totally resubscribe.

@TheHyproglo options for escape. I could choose to make friends with people, or to fight them to claim a hunting spot of my own. These choiced had ramifactions, because they have friends also who are willing to back them up. Towns were claimed as safe spots for clans. These towns were also fought over and raided. You were never safe, always on the edge of your seat looking out for signs of danger. I remeber the Ayan wars. When Blood swore allegiance to bael'zharon, and when they betrayed the...

@TheHyproglo Fair enough, I only played ac2 for about 2 months. Let me explain it this way, I loved how ac1 was skill based. You could literally do anything you wanted with you charecter, whether it was viable or not. I also enjoy world pvp because it puts your survival skills to the test. Your not longer playing vs ai, your playing against another person. Like any game(chess, starcraft, poker), you had to know when you were beat, know when to push an attack, and always keep in mind your best...

It should say something that AC is still running while AC2 has long since shut down. If Turbine took the solid feel and great character-building engine from AC and launched a new game in that vein, it might be a real winner. AC2 was way too Everquesty and was linked to AC pretty much in name only.

Adding these kinds of major updates to one of the longest running and still successful MMOs isn't a waste of money, its a gift to the dedicated player base that has been with Turbine long before LOTRO.

Wow, so much hate...I just read half of the patch page info and I gotta say I am thoroughly impressed, Turbine.

Unfortunately, y'know, what with Sparker and everything...also apparently you guys permabanned Iluminati for no reason the other day, and let's not forget the Shenti (Frostfell) account is still suspended for suspicions of crap I didn't do.

Asheron's Call... The best game in the world...
I've played dozens of other mmo's and all types of games. Asheron's Call is still the best I've played.
If you think graphics are what make games good, then I feel sorry for you.

Nah scrap AC1 and give us back AC2. It was the best MMO out there. None of this run around town and hunt npc's bullshit that today's games have. I'm so fed up of games that you need to play virtual sims with 1000's of useless npc's and play dress up and house decorating.

You are entitled to your opinion :) I know many people did not like AC2 but when you say it was a clone you are trying to tell a guy that played the game from start to end. AC2 was original in every sense.
I fail to see why you think it was a clone. EQ was terrible and nothing like AC2.

It failed because 1 reason : Microsoft!!! the rushed the client launch, they had the worst servers in the land AKA Gun server.

When Turbine claimed all rights to the franchise, it was 100% better.

Good Graphics are what make a good first impression on someone, and also something this game doesnt have. Turbine, stick to DDO and LOTRO. If youre gonna make a new game, atlteast make it look different from a runescape wannabe.

The voice acting on this is TERRIBLE. Sounds like someone on youtube doing a B-rate mock up of the matrix.
