Hello everyone! I made a collection of solos by the great Kee Marcello! one of my absolute favorites! I wanted to pay homage to him by making a tribute of 8 solos!

Kee is a long time friend, and I love his playing. He gave me several important technique tips when I was trying to do "Superstitious" more than 30 years ago (which finally helped me to get there).

First I want to congratulate Sean for really being able to hear and play all the extras in Kee's playing.

The tips from Kee
• float your right hand and arm
• don't try to anchor
• totally relax both hands, especially the right
• use a pretty hard pick (he used a Dunlop Jazz III back then)
• try to just hit the top half of the strings (Kee also used .008s back then).
• play in "1", meaning hit the accent beats but do what you want in between. Good examples are the accelerations and decelerations in Superstitious and Coast to Coast where Kee (and Sean) just accelerate within the solo to just nail the strong beat at the end of the phrase -- this is really exciting, and you just have to aim at that strong beat many notes ahead -- and just get there.
• Finally, the reason we are here is not Kee's astounding technique, but his astounding musicality -- not just for a rock musician, but for any musician.

And, by the way, there is no nicer human being to know than Kee Marcello.

What a find!! This is absolutely fantastic playing. You have nailed it. Your vibrato is delightful too. Great job!! Kee is a player I’ve always loved. My favourite ever guitar tone is Kee’s OUT OF THIS WORLD sound. It’s such a pleasure to see so many other players that admire his playing.

By the way, I encourage all Kee Marcello fans everywhere to help spreading the words and to encourage Kee itself to create a YouTube channel. It would be a dream come true having a "Kee Marcello official channel" where he drops lessons, tips, news, gear talks, live streaming and anything he could share!
Just to have an idea, take a look to what Steve Vai is doing on his channel. That's like oxygen for all of us fans!

Superb ! You nailed it ! . Kee is one of the hardest players to 'Copy' .... Great Great Job ! Kee is one of my Fav players, He has everything .. His 'Speed' is phenomenal, yet he plays every note 'Cleanly', and of course he keeps every solo 'Musical' unlike a lot of other 'Speed Freaks' !

complimenti...eseguiti alla perfezione...non ho mai perdonato a Kee Marcello di aver sostituito John Norum negli Europe, anche se gli ho sempre riconosciuto una maggior tecnica.Il guaio è che Norum è quello che mi ha spinto a prendere in mano una chitarra e cominciare a suonare...comunque Kee è un "mostro" di chitarrista e ha composto dei soli meravigliosi...dalla tua lista però mi manca forse quello che mi piace di più: quello di "More than meets the eye"...altra meraviglia da ascoltare e vedere era la sua versione del "Volo del calabrone" che faceva dal vivo...GRANDEEE

EUROPE...always underrated and reduced to FINAL COUNTDOWN . What a great band, what a great bunch of songwriters and what a great team of great Instrumentalists. The know for sure, what they are doing an they are doing great. I LOVE JOHN NORUM'S work.
I bought my speakers, my amplifier, the tuner, the record player 40 years ago. I was broke as a kid. A colleague of my father was in some kind of a club. You could buy 3 vinyls half price. So I bought BON JOVI - NEW JERSEY, SCORPIONS - SAVAGE AMUSEMENT and...EUROPE - OUT OF THIS WORLD.

Kee will always have a special place on my six string hard drive. Great melodies, great sense for structure, nice tone...
