Thanks for that Alois, i recently had a very similar thing happen, when i beat the enemy laner with a lvl2 spike, and then got greedy, dived him and ended up losing a bunch of waves, giving him a freeze and then died to a gank. I figured that while it seems kinda counterintuitive to leave your opponent alive, its actually a more optimal play in a situation like that

But you lose one wave and get a kill. It’s still worth it to flash for the kill. One wave = 100g. One kill = 300g, more if it’s first blood

If you can guarantee the kill (know the matchup know your damage and live) and you KNOW your jungler will play with you go for the kill. If you DONT know wave control go for the kill. If your lane opponent DOESNT know wave management, go for the kill.
