amazing álbum 10/10 BMP (╬▔皿▔)╯ While the previous album was a concept album celebrating several classic interpretations of Wagner's immortal opera The Ring of the Nibelung, Wolkenbrecher is not a concept album.
However, the homage aspect is still present; Now it is only German history that is the focus: just look at the album cover, which features the famous Heidelberg Castle. The band remains faithful to its idea of ​​mixing classic black with folk music and symphonic parts, basically everything that can serve to create a great and adventurous atmosphere.
Sometimes he succeeds, as in "Der Harnischmacher" or "Im Zwielicht (Der Mantel der Dämmerung)", but other times we find the guitar solo of "Mein Königreich", which is as elegant as seventeen blind epileptics on a track skating. The flute solo in "Zu den Waffen" is also a strange addition, but it still works in some strange way, as if it were the pinch of salt that elevates sweet cuisine, when the effect should be the opposite. In short, "Wolkenbrecher" is an album that moves between pagan melodic Black Metal with epic overtones thanks to the incorporation of keyboards, which gives it a more medieval atmosphere, so to speak.


Asenheim's Black Metal is rich in its splendor and multifaceted in its approach. 'Wolkenbrecher' is a 52-minute journey into his rarefied realm, and one you'll want to stay in forever.
