Advaita - In The Air (Live at The Oddbird Theatre)

'In The Air' is Advaita's third single from the 'UNISON' concert series.

This song is based on a poem by the sufi mystic and poet Baba Bulleh Shah. He challenges us to ask ourselves if we truly live by the principles we pretend to follow and to realise that it won't be our name, status, religion or creed that would matter before God, but our actions and the purity of our hearts.

Padhi namaaz te riyaaz na sikhya
Tere kis kaam padhya namaaza
Na ghar ditha na gharwala
Tere kis kaam kittiyan niyaaza

Ilam padhaya amal na kitta
Tere kis kaam kittiyan kaza
Bulleh shah pata tad lag si
Jado chidi phansi hath baaza

Jo ghadya so bhajna 
Ek din jo banaya so dhena
Aakhir chadhne mahal manare baith sada nahin rehna

Char dina da mela otthe 
Bahuti deer nahin behna
Jo bhi cheda saadak chalya ohi manna pena

Kol nahin bhain bharava 
Pal vich ja dafnana
Tur jana tenu sab ne chad bahuta chir na lana
Muk jaaney sab chede 
Tere haath mitti jad aana
Us din saadak russe nu kisse nahin aan manauna

I hope for one thing 
And I pray for another 
Is it really wishful thinking 
In a way that ends never ?

When I needed to say something 
The sounds just seem to clutter 
Into words I know won't even matter 
Do they really matter ? 

I believe in one thing 
And live by another 
In a state of constant daze
I've been here forever 

I want to break out of this spell
