Colmar & Black Forest Day Trip: Viking Getaway River Cruise Excursions

Colmar, France is a best kept secret in France! It is a gorgeous little village with storybook buildings, canals and cobblestone streets. The eclectic architecture is adorned with creative decorations, which makes wandering through the streets an enchanting experience. I visited the Bartholdi Museum, the Marche Couvert, Petite Venice, and the St Martin Cathedral, among other historic buildings.

After my visit to Colmar, I completed the day with a trip to the Black Forest, where I was able to hike, view a glass blowing demonstration, and a black forest cake demonstration. You can also watch a cuckoo clock making demo. The drive to the Black Forest is quite lovely and worth the trip.

Thank you for posting this video. It is very informative and well done. We will be on the same cruise starting Dec 20th. Our itinerary for Breisach will include the Blackforest tour in the morning. The optional excursion to Colmar is also available, but is scheduled to leave around the same time as the Blackforest tour. I really would love to do both, so this means I will have to try to go to Colmar after our Blackforest excursion. Would you happen to know if they have public transportation readily available to go to Colmar from the cruise dock? Thank you in advance!
