The world's smallest dog: Milly the Chihuahua awarded the Guinness World Record

Milly the Chihuahua has barely grown since birth but she has already earnt herself a Guinness World Record. The mini-pooch can perch in the palm of your hand and she has now been officially recorded as the smallest dog in the world. Milly, who lives in Puerto Rico, is a teeny-weeny 9.65cm tall which is about the height of an actual iPhone. She had to be hand-reared because her size meant she could not feed normally

"She could not breastfeed due to the tiny size of her mouth," said her carer, Rivera Eizzil. "To get an idea of just how petite she is, when she was born she received milk from an eyedropper." Report by Katie Lamborn.

My little chihuahua (also called Milly but we nicknamed her Dobby because of her huge ears) was slightly smaller than this dog and my gosh, was she beautiful! She was also chocolate brown. But at about two years old she passed away from a seizure or stroke 🥺 Their big bobble heads are precious so they’re known to have some brain issues and other things. I found her out the back half paralysed whimpering and the front of her body was all stiff. I scooped her up, panicking, and took her to the vet, but they said she was in a lot of pain, I was 16 at the time and didn’t have any money to pay for the vet bills, and they also said she would have to learn to walk, eat, drink, and be herself again, so it was suggested that it was best to put her down. I wish I didn’t 😔 She was such a beautiful little thing, and I miss her a lot! But I’m glad she didn’t suffer any longer.
