Part 1 of a two part series. In this video I explain the necessary tools you need when tapping maple trees for sap, and the process involved with doing so. This is a fun hobby that doesn't require tons of money, and get you outside during a cold time of the year!

Here is a list of the necessary tools:

Rubber mallet
Rubber hose (connects from the collection jug to spout)
Collection jug (can be a milk jug or bucket)
Duct tape
Cordless Drill
Spade bit (for drilling your hole)
Metal pry bar/screw drivers (for removing your taps)

I have heard that you can tap maples other than sugars, however it requires more sap per gallon of syrup because of lower sugar content.

Better off having someone record for you. Big tree, coulda had 3-4 taps on that tree. Good luck.
