The ISSB is a climate-friendly alternative to burnt bricks. A mix of soil, sand and 6% cement is mixed by hand. The mix is added to the Makiga press and manually pressed. The freshly pressed block is then left to cure for 28 days.

ISSB's interlocking shape means that no cement is needed between courses.
