Today, we're talking about a strange and mysterious phenomenon that occurred in the skies above Alaska. On April 15, 2023, a stunning spiral of light was seen sailing through the aurora and over Donnelly Dome.

At first, nobody knew what it was or where it came from. But after doing some research, we now know that it was the result of rocket engine exhaust from the Space Transporter-7 mission that launched on the Falcon 9 rocket about three hours earlier in California.

The exhaust from the second stage engine froze and caught the high-altitude sunlight, creating a stunning display of light that looked like a spiral galaxy. The payload was 51 satellites, and on its initial polar orbit, it did a pass-by over Alaska, stunning many night-watchers.

It was truly a sight to behold, and even though it was eventually explained, the feeling of the unknown and the mystery of it all was truly exciting. And for those stargazers out there, the spiral even points to the North Star! This was definitely a first, and who knows what other mysterious and exciting phenomena the universe has in store for us.
