I live in a dystopian dictatorship country which is very strict in limiting free speech and very authoritarian when it comes to internet surveillance, I have a friend group and I would love to chat with them in a free way without the government knowing what I'm saying. Will setting up a XMPP server deliver this? Can my ISP still see what's happening in the server? Will they know I'm hosting a server? What if they raid my house, is there any way for them to decrypt all of the chat history? How about IP logs, are there any IP logs?

I just want to use this with 4 friends in total, so I am wondering if I can install this on a Blacknight Shared Linux package(i have the domain and SSL already), I dont have access to shell

Can you have video conferencing on XMPP?

I've been thinking about setting up a Jitsi to replace my need for Skype for Linux. If it's supported by XMPP I can probably pull in a couple normies.
