Outstanding speech. If conservatives refuse to learn with us libertarians, this speech shows once again we do not refuse to learn with true, principled conservatives. May the right, realistic, libertarian movement keep growing and the left, progressive, lolbertarian, stupids for liberty branch of it shriking. Thank you, Prof. Hoppe!

Only 6 minutes and 30 seconds into this, and Hoppe is already knocking the ball out of the park.

Challenging, thought-provoking speech (as usual). Thank you!

It is unfortunate the enemies of liberty will focus only on the words like "natural elites" and completely miss the part about voluntary, beneficial interactions. I blame government "school".

Very good speech vis-à-vis political theory, vis-à-vis the shimera of the modern state ;)

At 45:50 I was hoping he would include the “Haus of Holbein
Ja, ooh ja, das ist gut”

The obvious thing is that the inequality of men in terms of abilities and the irrelevance of abilities to moral life, not that differences in ability do not have real effects in the world but the fact being that they like everything else (from politeness, to obedience, to laws and contractual exchanges, etc) is basically (not ultimately but basically from the outset) subordinate to moral principles means that it will inequality means that inevitably it will be the fact that in some respects that are not defined inferiors/subordinates will find themselves to be superior to their superiors in some skills to their superiors which will beget the envious abuse from the superior unless both keep themselves and each other in check by appealing always to the superiority of moral principles to all technical or cultural principles of practice. Apodictically.

In this sense material subordination is a mere problem of continuing survival and who is taller, paler, faster, handsomer, stronger, etc., is only important in the technical moments of craft/skilled practice but never more important than moral and ethical principles, that is rules for interactions and rules for individual actions informed by religion. The opposite leads to a blind subservience that enables technocracy, tyranny, legislative and judicial abuse. It would be rubbish to suggest politeness or obedience trumps moral commandments.

Great ideas. Women should be made into property as well.

This, of couse, is interesting. Unfortunately Hoppe overestimates ideology and underestimates elite networks and intelligence services. Other historians are pointing out, that the supposed American Revolutionary War was a coup by the British Crown to fool the French Monarchs into putting their money into the Thirteen Colonies. Then, when the French has lost the money but had gained neither control nor weakened Britain, the British financed the radical French Revolutionaries to get rid of these specific french royal families (House of Bourbon). Then the Crown had everything to gain from World War 1 and let it happen (they were sitting on the throne anyway in Britain AND Russia and were related to the naive German Kaiser). Then they financed the Nazis and the Communists (as professor Antony Sutton documented). Today they are controlling all the Billionaires (Koch, Soros, Mercer) who finance the different ideologies and thereby prevent those ideologies from a healthy, scientific development.

Libertarianism is basically inverted communism. Sounds good in theory, but fails in practice. Both communism and Libertarianism are extreme polar opposites but are both unworkable. Things tend to work better when closer to the center.
