BMW phone cradle removal

Phone #cradle delete in BMW X1 E84 to make the compartment under the armrest more usable. Phone dock was unused since there's great bluetooth functionality in this car. Cradle was always in the way, annoying each time I wanted to use the compartment.
How to #remove this element? You need to move both front seats all the way to the from of the car, then pry the back cover with the 12V outlet, next punch out pivot point that holds the armrest and the cradle, remove the cradle, disconnect wiring, push back the pivot point, and install back the 12V socket with its cover.

This was shot in 2010 #BMW X1 E84, but similar mounting and delete method most likely will apply to other BMW cars.

This is great! Much better than the last video I watched where the guy had to break it to get it out. I’ve wanted to do this ever since I got my car too. So thank you very much!

Thank you for this. I didn’t understand why they would continue putting these in the car that has Bluetooth.. I will be doing this tomorrow. I just got this car and it’s been driving me nuts that almost all the middle console is taken up.

Great video thanking you :) completed the task without a problem. Do you have the link for the part that covers the element/hole? I would be keen to see if I can purchase somewhere online. Again, thank you for your insightful video.
