Cutting larger is a great idea for those of us who have difficulty getting our block to come out the right size no matter what we do. I appreciate learning your technique.

This was such a great video, Kimberly!!! Especially for those of us with quilting experience to add to our skill set. Now, my brain probably couldn’t initially do with the math that you did but it was easy to follow you. I really hope you will do the second part just like this one because I know you have great tips with sewing strips together!!! You can’t not do it after the thoroughness you did with the first section!!!!❤❤❤

So, here's my Kimberly, your methods for piecing are amazing. It would be wonderful if you published a book about how you revise a pattern using your ideas that result in perfectly pieced blocks. Your tutorials are amazing but how great would it be to have all these methods in book form? You could call it, "Strategic Piecing and Planning for Perfect Quilts". 😊😊😊

I started quilting and always changed patterns. I could never leave it alone. It is nice to see I am not the only one. My challenge for next year is to follow 3 patterns exactly as they are (except fabric my stash is so big I have scale down). This year I am organizing my sewing room. Thank you for sharing! I appreciate you!

Hey Kimberly, your methods always reveal tips that we would not otherwise know. I have learned so much from you that I have become a confident quilter because of you. Your methods have inspired me to be better and I take your tips to heart. So your complicated methods make you who you are. Please be true to yourself and your audience. You have made this world a better place. I love the Fat Quarter Shop and the team that make it fantastic. God bless y’all.

Please keep up the "complicated" way you do things. It's wonderful to watch and learn. That was a gorgeous block and I enjoyed every minute of you creating it.

Kimberly, YOU are amazing! You show us SO many different thing to really give a wide variety of instruction for your viewers. You are so authentic. You show us all of your talents and you own your few struggles. That makes you REAL to us. We all would live to have the beautiful results you get in your quilts. It's up to us whether or not we are willing to put in the effort that you do. Thank you for all that you teach us...about quilting....and LIFE. PS...darling blick. You were right that the fabrics go well in this pattern.

I love how you show a more complex way of doing things and how to use different products to help get the results you are looking for. I've learned from using your more interesting ways of cutting and sewing that have actually made my quilting journey easier. I'm not saying that I have used them all, but I have used quite a few. Thank you Kimberly for showing us different ways to do things and still get the same or better results. It's very refreshing to see!!

I absolutely love you sharing and sewing live as I learn so much when you do. I have literally learned to quilt by watching your lives and tutorials! Thank you for all you do!!!

I absolutely love seeing you ‘over complicate’ things. When I have trouble getting my blocks to come out using the standard, basic method I need your ‘complications’ to fix my problems! PLEASE keep instructing this way; just like making a pattern our own we can choose to be complicated (or not), but we can only do this if you also give us the complications . ❤️😉☺️

You can't make everyone happy so i really hope you stay true to yourself and just keep showing how you do things whether its complicated or not. I love how you show different ways to help us make blocks more true to the pattern sizes. I have definitely improved and think i am ready to start Spangled now that you have explained a few things. Love FQS!!

I don't think you are crazy at all, Kimberly. Your blocks turn out beautifully and, thus, so do your quilts. I really appreciate your showing us all your tips and tricks so we can improve our skills, too.

I love the way you avoided wonky 90-degree corners. Your tips are always useful, some times we have to listen or watch again to follow 😅 but once we see it in use, it's great.

I absolutely love when you over complicate things. I am the SAME way so it is fun to see what you do & how you make your blocks absolutely perfect. I love the tricks of making certain pieces bigger so you can cut down & make it perfect. You may see it as over complicating but I see it as making it easier actually and I love it. Thank you for all you do & for taking the time to teach all of us!

I am so GLAD you “over complicated” this. I have learned so much from all of your tips. I get so frustrated when I finish a block and the corners are kind of wonky! I’m definitely saving this and I’m going to rewatch and take notes. Also, I don’t buy kits. I keep thinking I can choose my own fabrics 😅, plus I need to use what I have. Thank you!! I learned so much!

I enjoy seeing you take a pattern and change it up. Not everything has to be for beginner quilters, and it gives us all incentive to shake things up a bit.

Please continue to show us Kimberly's way! I keep learning ways to improve my piecing with each video. Thanks for all you do!
