DIY wireless guitar system using NRF24L01

Note: This project was not taken further due to comercial options coming on the market at much lower prices than previously available. The battery drain was also an issue that made this a problem.

A DIY wireless guitar system using two NRF24L01 boards purchased for under $30 (25 euros). This video is to determine whether this will actually work, despite power needs, impedance considerations, and the actual signal level from the guitar.
Nice surprise. Ready for "production".

Just a thought, could the other channel be used as a mic input for adding cordless vocals? 100mA is high but probably not an issue for rechargeable cells, good luck if you are playing for 10 hours. I think you will need more re charging than the cells. What is the range available?

id use a single 18650 and boost it to 5v. 2600mah 18650 will last quite a while.

Olá amigo, boa noite. Acabei de receber o meu modulo, como faço para casar a impedância se quiser usar com fones de ouvido com cerca de 32ohm?

I assume this could be used for several types of wireless music applications... In-ear monitor system, wireless XLR input for virtually any microphone, wireless guitar system, etc. But I wonder how many of these systems you can use before interference starts to become an issue.

Hello there! Is there anything like this but with USB on one side?

Hi how about the latency? I heard that the analog systems don't have latency compared to the digital ones

nice.. I found this while wondering if I could use my old drone transmitters and receiver to the same effect.
I have no idea how or where to start hence looking for the video haha but where there's a will there's a way. One sends signal, one receives it.. give it power and I guess it's just making sure the signal can be sent between them.. if not I guess alter the signal somehow? I'm just brainstorming.. got a bunch of drone kit that would be fun to re-use one way or another.

Have you tried the channels? Because I want to use 5 pairs at the same time with different channels. And my second question: have you tried them with headphones. I would like to use reciever with headphones and transmitter input is mixer line output. I ll try to design a wireless inear system for my band. Thank you for your demonstration.

VERY GOOD VIDEO, I WAS THINKING TO MAKE ONE TRANSISTOR TRANSMITER 50---100 mW AND TUNE THIS TX TO A SMALL FM RADIO. WHAT DO YOU THING ??

I know this was a few years ago and you have moved on. But I am trying to do some projects for school and want to do a project similar to this. How did you go about making/setting up the modules? Is there any references you can direct me to? I am still very new to this. (or anyone in the comments that happen to be reading this, I would greatly appreciate it.)

Hey great video, what's the name of the Nordic semi and AKG chip? Cheers

Hello. I Have two pairs of those and, the connection is lost frequently. Sometimes it works fine for several minutes, sometimes just for a few minutes. This happens in the middle of a song. The transmission restarts when I press the "Pair" button in the transmitter, only to drop again minutes later. They were bought from diferent sellers. Do you experience the same?

Hello! excuse my english! ... I'm from Venezuela and I need your help! Here I can only find the Arduino Nrf24l01 Transceiver Module ... would it be possible to do the same as in this video but with that module? It would be very helpful for me ...

Why not use a li ion or lipo battery which can come down to 3.7 and 3.6 amps and charge to 4.2 volts. Plus a single cell can be upto 3500 or 3600 mah, which in this case will work 2-2.5 times plus, compared to 1000 mah.

I am surely ordering them because the commercially available sets "for guitar" are priced astronomically and unnecessarily high. Have you tried using a Bluetooth system instead of 2.4 ghz? I look forward to the next vid on this topic. Thanks.

Hey! I really like your videos, I have some questions about these modules. It says on Ebay that they have 16 channels, do you know how these can be selected? Also do these still work well if there are more than one of these systems working separately? Anything you know would be helpful! I have wanted a wireless system for so long but they are all too expensive so this is a great option for me

Great video, nice and clear, just what I was looking for with my guitar. Please keep us posted how you go and wow, really nice looking Avo 8 mate.... ;-)

Could you use both channels to double the quality? I think so.
