VHD videodisc explanation in English

This is from a Japanese demo disc from NEC (in not so good condition), it includes this explanation video which was used on several other discs but in both Japanese and English.

Ok one thing I don’t get is this…

So wit) RCA CED Videodiscs, the stylus’ on those machines makes a light contact with the disc it’s self.
Are they saying that with the process of playing a VHD that the stylus doesn’t make any contact or just BARLEY touches the disc itself?? Can someone clarify here for me?!?! :)
