Three million title deeds risk being invalidated

Nandi County Senator Samson Cherargei now wants the National Lands Commission to investigate reports that more than three million title deeds issued by president Kenyatta’s government since 2013 may be rendered illegal. Cherargei says if revoked, millions of Kenyans who benefited will be disadvantaged. The new development follows last year’s High Court ruling that all title deeds issued without the involvement of the NLC and enactment of requisite regulations by Parliament were irregularly processed and therefore illegal. The ministry of lands is however yet to comply with the regulation as it moves to seek for an extension of the deadline.
