Wong Tai-Kwong, lacking proficiency in martial arts, appears destined for a life of enduring defeats at the hands of skilled practitioners. To safeguard himself, Wong enrolls in a Kung Fu school, only to find himself predominantly engaged in floor cleaning rather than martial arts instruction. However, fate takes a turn when, while carrying water from the river one day, Wong encounters a inebriated hermit who becomes his unexpected Kung Fu mentor. Under the hermit's guidance, Wong learns the "36 styles" of Kung Fu, propelling him to triumph over a succession of formidable opponents. "36 Crazy Fists" showcases the directorial prowess and fight choreography of the legendary Jackie Chan, who also makes a cameo appearance in the film as a stunt coordinator.
