This building got taken hijacked by gangsters who stripped the entered building including the elevators. They charged people to stay here and drug dealing and prostitution thrived behind its grey walls. Of course, there was no maintenance for the building so people threw their trash in the middle and even suicidal people themselves over. Bodies and trash pile up 13 floors. This is the story of Ponte City, Johannesburg.

I grew up in that building. Home and everything. We survived gangs and stressful suicides, the rest is usual death and misery but we came through all. ❤️

I remember in the early to mid 80s, I was a child.We stayed in the Bedfordview area! We often went to Yeoville to visit friends.We passed that building time and time again.As a child, i used to say to my dad to move us into that round building.It was my dream to live there! But that waa a long time ago.

Around 96 the building was hijacked by Nigerians and Zimbabweans and so where the other buildings in Hillbrow Johannesburg. Prior to 94 South Africa was hijacked by Europeans.

Didn't see any dead bodies. Was a great place for a student.
