They finally nerfed the MP40.

Flywheels have been a separate build of blasters forever, and the successor of the AEG style blaster that existed with the Stampede, Swarmfire, and Vulcan. But more recently, it seems AEGs are coming back, and the Colonel Wasp 76 is the best one yet. Uses standard Worker Talon magazines, full auto with a comfortable rate of fire to be single shot, two different spring loads, and with some slight tweaks it gives you all the accuracy you'd expect out of a Springer...with full auto to back it up. This Nerf MP-40 gives you everything you could want, at a comfortable price tag.

If you hadn't heard, Sillybutts is prototyping an AEB platform. The CW76 has great performance for the price, but I'm hoping that a bullpup conversion becomes readily available for it. Argus modworks in Taiwan has shown off an angled Talon through grip bullpup conversion, but I don't know where it is in development.

The Vulcan is also an AEG but it uses chains so it’s a dumb blaster. But dang this a crazy blaster, you could literally sneak up in someone without having to rev up your flywheels and you can still spray full auto at them, so beneficial and the rate of fire is pretty high as well so that makes it really good.

I absolutely love mine. Hobbyist quality Nerf AEGs have been incredibly dodgy in my experience but this one has been rock solid. It's not over engineered, it's just a basic aeg with solid performance. That was exactly what I wanted.

A couple of guys in my nerf group have gotten their hand on these and they seem pretty sweet. The blaster is very large tho. When I first got my hands on it I ended up putting the magazine in closer instinctively due to how close to the grip most magwells are. I totally missed the magwell by a couple of inches. One thing that did scare me from this blaster tho was some of the issues that one of my friends had with it. He kept getting feeding issues with it (granted it could have been due to the tachis) and a piece of the plunger tube ended up breaking off and getting around the plunger tube. I’m hoping that that is something that is wrong with his and isn’t a problem with the majority of them but it’s definitely something to keep in mind.

I'm really interested to see how AEG(B)s develop in the nerf community. This could be the way forward for accurate full auto nerf guns, Still considering getting the firefly though. I'm not really into nerf anymore but the stuff the community is pumping out is drawing me back in a bit.

I'll wait for the improved version, my friend got the first firefly, and he's had problems with the breech and plunger, but now the firefly being sold is updated to address those issues.
