With each passing day, I stand, watching as time escapes my reach. Unable to return to where I once was, nor to the present that is.

As the surroundings rise and falls, while the passage of time eats away at what would have become.

I’ve seen kingdoms disappear, never to be remembered. Friends laying on their death beds, observed humans tear themselves apart from war and greed, families die, those long forgotten.

I began wandering, traveling the world, taking the paths that would leave me everywhere and nowhere at all.

I watched as man longed for immortality, sacrificing the lives of the innocent.

As I began questioning myself, what was the purpose of my life, long and never ending.

Immortality isn’t a gift, it’s a curse.
