UPDATE: GM had originally told me all Bolt EVs and EUVs would need the update to be Supercharger compatible. However, they just reached out to tell me that was incorrect. Only 2019 and some 2020 Bolts EV and EUVs will need the update. They told me they advise customers to contact their dealer, and they will tell them if they need the update.

I just took my 2021 Bolt to a Tesla and it charged fine. I am very happy. I already had my A2Z adapter waiting for this moment for many months.

So happy to hear this! I just called my dealer service dept and he said the computer doesn’t show my car needing any updates. 2023 Bolt EUV.

I found out through the Equinox EV Forum and got my adaptor ordered, it said my dealer had them in stock, so we will see if they actually do, thanks for all you do for the EV community.

PROTIP! On Superchargers that have access from the backside of the charger you can park your car there and only take up one spot.

Thanks Tom, I just ordered mine here in Canada from my dealer. They knew all about it. So cool. Activation on the app was so easy.

I have a Chevrolet Blazer EV AWD. Just went to a Tesla Version 3 Supercharger and used A2Z adapter that I have had for about 4 weeks now based on your review video. It worked!! I used the Tesla app, did not register in Chevy App and you have to Start Charge because you have to identify the Charge Station ID. Once this was done and I plugged in, the charge process started within 5 seconds. Did not have to hit "Start Charge" in the vehicle or do anything further.

This is great news and I'm happy that you, Tom, was the first one to break them. I tried ordering my adaptor through the app and it says 'Backorder", so we might need to wait a bit longer, thanks Tom!!

When I leased my Blazer EV I got somewhere around $110 in Chevrolet Rewards points on the Accessory site. That offsets about half the $225 adapter.

Thanks Tom, I preordered the Vortex adaptor for my 2023 Bolt, and received one post-recall. Today I’m 285 miles from home in my brand new Equinox Ev, with the adaptor in the car. I almost didn’t bring it because I wasn’t expecting this until next year. There’s a new V3 SC on my way 50 miles from home. I may try it. I’m keeping the Bolt by the way, it’s the 2nd best car I’ve ever owned, the first being the Equinox.

Tom, congratulations on earning this well-deserved scoop. It shows your hard-earned influence in the world of charging. With that in mind, it would be a real service if you could do a demo video to show ways not to block two charging spots at SCs, eg.: park (if possible) to the right of the last right-most stall; use one of the side-mounted stalls even if you stick out a little; and 3 choose a stall next to another non-Tesla vehicle. It is interesting to note that Tesla owners tend to choose every other stall as they fill up (this goes back to the early days with v2 sites that halved the charging power of occupied adjacent stalls). If six Teslas are parked in a 12-stall site and leaving one space between each, no vehicle with a port in the “wrong” position will be able to charge. It’s going to be an interesting new world out there.

Another great video- thanks Tom. I enjoy not only your insight and expertise, but enthusiasm. We just completed a 775 mile trip to the beach with our Lightning. Using the Lectron Vortex we made 4 Tesla supercharger stops with 100% success. What a pleasure compared to CCS charging experience (my stats show 46% charges had problems).

Tom; only select early model Bolts require a software update, anything 2022+ and all EUV’s are good to go

Thank you Tom. I bought the EVIQO charger after your review. Really happy with it. Now I just need to order the adapter.
