The LVL 7 is a fully insulated outer layer. Hydrophobic properties of Climashield® Apex™ keep user warm and dry in extreme cold weather conditions. If exposed to moisture, textile dries immediately. Nylon outer layer provides durability, secures insulation material and provides crucial wind and water resistance without blocking the breathability. Helmet-compatible hood can be easily adjusted by drawstrings hidden in chest pockets. High, soft fleece lined collar keeps vital body parts warmed. Two chest pockets are lined with fleece to provide protection against frostbite. LVL 7 is highly compressible – can be stuffed in a pack or cargo pouch, without any damage to its properties.

I know exactly what you are talking about. Just ordered the jacket for 135 Bucks (10% off). It's insane how they can keep up with that outstanding price/value relation. Btw I am wearing my Helikon Patriot since Jan 2018 nearly everyday when its not directly summer. You can wear it over a t-shirt and it will keep you warm, you can wear it over a sweater and it works as a warm jacket. You have lots of pouches, like the 2 backpackish-ones on the back for transportation etc.

After that i got the training mini rig, after comparing a LOT of other chestrigs which where much more expensive (Haley strategic for instance) -> this was by far the most valuable, cheapest and most thought out chestrig, with better overall design, quality and love to useful details. I can basically store everything i have on my LBT Plate Carrier on this RIG and still have everything accessible at the front of my body and its very comfortable to wear. Multicam Colors are great as well.


For like 90 Bucks...

Can't explain how much love this brand. Practical, perfect quality, outstanding price, superb thought out designs. What more can you expect.

Die Jacke ist mega geil, I got it to day and I really like it, better then the Carinthia or the same, but the warm head and weigh is better on this one. and sice wice. I am 180 and L is just fin for me.

Runs small compared to U.S. Level 7 parka that is part of ECWCS Gen III. Room for silk weight and one fleece under Helikon Level 7, as other two reviewers who addressed sizing said would be the case. No room for Level 2 insulation or Level 4 or 5 - just 1 and 3. Made in CHINA - so labeled. Not remotely "huge" for what "Level 7" strongly implies and what you expressly claim. I should have ordered XXL to get XL functionality.

"Rip Stop, " per all the manufacturers, RESISTS rips. No one should understand it to mean, as you claim, that it "won't rip on you."

It's an overcoat. 100 grams/yd insulation is not for extreme cold unless you can get the other layers under it. Like the other two reviewers who addressed sizing, I can't, as I can with U.S. ECWCS/PCU "Level 7." So yes, "cool."
