Thousands of people attended a rally in Louisville, Kentucky to mark the anniversary of the death of Breona Taylor.
The 26-year-old Black woman was shot dead a year ago in a botched police raid on her apartment.
Taylor’s death, along with the police killing of George Floyd in Minnesota, sparked huge protests against police abuses and racism across the United States last year.
But 12 months after Taylor's killing, only one of three police officers involved in the raid has been charged, and only for endangering Taylor’s neighbours by firing wildly into an adjacent apartment.

Al Jazeera’s Mike Hanna report from the US capital, Washington, DC.

RIP Breona Taylor the only way to resolve this matter is to end Qualified Immunity and Dissolve the Police Unions.

I’m Black and Taylor does NOT represent me or my family. STOP putting criminals, rapists, dealers on pedestals. Pray for the body found in her rental car and those impacted by her and her drug dealing friends
