This beautiful and sensitive composition was written to celebrate the beginning of UNITED SOUND, an organization whose purpose is to put instruments into the hands of special needs students. The beginning section features optional solo opportunities for flute, alto sax and trumpet. From there the piece adds layers of sonorities as the full ensemble builds to the emotional and powerful final strains.

my mom passed away earlier this year. we're learning this in band and today my teacher said to close our eyes and imagining playing this for someone who we would want to hear it, i thought of my mom and i cried a little lol she wouldve loved this
