An insane footage of a Royal Australian Air Force C-17 jet that seems to be weaving between building completely surprised American viewers.

The aircraft was rehearsing for the annual Sunsuper Riverfire occasion, which was held in the Queensland capital on Saturday evening.

The footage struck an uncomfortable chord with a number of Americans, who just marked the 20th anniversary memorial of the 9/11 terror attacks.

However that aircraft was actually flying above a river that runs through town, not weaving in between buildings.

Brisbane locals remarked on social media that the occasion happens yearly and the flights are simply a part of the occasion.

I'm in Brisbane. We do it every year for River Fire fireworks show. The plane goes nowhere near the buildings. It flies over the river.
People are freaking out for nothing.

Kind of stupid and risky if you ask me. Even if it is a tradition and low risk, you can never rule out a potential malfunction or a human error. Looks great until something happens and it will never happen again.
