FIX for MPP Solars WatchPower & WatchMPPT log not working.

General guide to get your event log working in WatchPower & Watch MPPT software for PIP2424HS inverters & PCM60x charge controllers. I'm going to put it out there that this fix will work for most other Watchpower type software from MPP Solar

Hi. A month ago, i connected a Effekta AX 3000 which is a hybrid inverter to solar panels. It works fine but i have no cable for the PC connection, neither the CD. This inverter should work with the watchpower, but i can't find out how. For the connecction i use pin 1, 2 and 8 for ground on the rj45 connector, and go to a
DSD TECH USB zu TTL Seriell Adapter Konverter mit FTDI FT232RL Chip Kompatibel. But it doesn't communicate. Do you have any idea how i can fix this problem?

I at one time had problems with being able to see my data logging. but did the same thing I reinstalled the software and it worked strange but it worked and I like it now. I have some friends working on a great piece of software, because if you have the MPP inverter/charger like there 4048, and a 60 amp charge controller you for some reason cant see them both at the same time so they are working on software that will make it possible to see it all in one screen. even adding SOC monitoring from the Midnight Classic, and some other SOC meters since the MPPT's SOC is not that good for if you have more than one device. I cant wait until they are done with the software so when I get a Classic I can see all my info in on screen.

it would be great if the company that makes the MPP products would make and external SOC meter, so we can see what goes in and what goes out more effectively. I'm a little crazy i like have the same products when building a system and not mismatched parts.

Hello and thank you for a nice channel.
I wonder if someone could help me figure out whats wrong with my connection to my Easun Isolar SML II 3.2K. I have downloaded and tested many versions of Watchpower and the result is allways the same. I connect via USB and the Sillicon USB to UART driver on my Windows 7 computer ( have tried 3 different computers with Windows 7 and Windows 10) . The graphics show how its charging and if it bypasses the solar panels or what ever, that works fine. But on the "basic information" table where im supposed to get readings of all data for power consumption, battery voltage and so on, there is only zero's. There is also nothing in the logs. Could this be a USB port connection problem ? Any tips appreciated.

Thanks for the info. after 7 years the issues have not been resolved by the inverter or program makers. Just Amazing china syndrome...
I will try the MPPT program. the link you provided unfortunately did not work.

I have an inverex mks 5kva and I connected my laptop to the inverter via LAN wire and opened the mpptracker but it isn't working. I have tried changing the wire but nothing works.

I there, would someone please assist me to connect my inverter to my PC using watch power, my unit connects and disconnects continuously and gives me a communication lost and communication restore warning messages, I did the following, installed the software, and com port and updates but still the same, is there someone out there just to point out what's happening?

I have installed inverter genius and IVP3M charger controller so the first one has watchpower application the second one has mpptracker application the problem cames after mpptracker installation when I try to Lunch watchpower open mpptracker seems they can not work togheter

Hi there. I have a 3k array running through my pip4048 into 1000ah 48v battery. I also have a separate 3k array running through an ITracer into the same battery. I have the pip battery setting configured to user but whenever the battery voltage rises above 55.4v the pip slows down and whilst the ITracer is putting in 2000w, the pip only puts in just over 1000w. if it was a gel battery I would understand but I'm losing a lot of solar power and wondered if anyone had any ideas to fix it....

What is the factory password for this mpp or watchpower. The password is invalid when I enter the login password. Pls guide me the factory password in parameter settings

my WatchPower did not work until i changed default password administrator to a new password then everything started working

That's strange, computers can be a PITA when they want to be,
