The classy tech video had the LG G5 having better colour volume and colour luminance than the S95D, so it's a big step forward for LG. LG has the best out of the box performance of all the brands.

Yo, we’re talking a 1000nit bump year over year with the G5 in accurate modes. WOLED took 9 years to hit 1000 for the first time with the G2. This is insane and the accomplishment can’t be overstated. Could have LG, Panasonic, Samsung, Philips, and even Sony using this tech this year in their flagships. What a turnaround

I’m sure the G5 looks fantastic. But I love my G4 and am very satisfied with it. My issues with older oled’s was that they weren’t as bright. MLA fixed that. The G4 is so eye searing bright that I had to lower the pixel brightness.

Just got a 65 LG G4 3 days ago for £1, 899. I love the picture quality, it's worth every penny. I know that LG G5 is coming next month, but hey, that's as far as our budget can go. I am having a jaw drop every time I watch a 4K HDR10 and Dolby Vision movies with the G4, just watched Avatar HDR10 part 1 coded in 4Knits yesterday and my heart was thumping with joy. I don't need a very bright TV. Honestly, I always put the brightness of the G4 to 50 because 100 is too bright for my eyes, and the picture quality is still stunning.

G5 gets new remote, no vanta black antiglare coating, brighter, more colourful (G4 has great colour for most content) maybe some settings differences

At the end of the day it’s worth it over the G4 if you’re looking for long term. This TV just simply will have a longer performance shelf life than probably an other TV. The A95L could be argued as having 2 solid years of competition hanging. This will probably have 3 years.

Been waiting for the G4 to drop to 3K for the 77inch for 5 months. Didn’t think the G5 would be such a big jump. Now I think I’ll have to pull the trigger on the G5.

This TV will benefit gamers a lot, but movies won't see a noticeable difference between releases because most movies are dark and the HDR level is limited.

I’m still ok with my Sony 77” A80J. I only watched at night. But I haven’t turned it on in a while, I feel like I’m wasting time watching tv now a days. I like taking TV breaks every now and then.

I didn’t like 2024 at all. I’ve been seeing it since last year that 2024 was a filler year for TVs. So regardless, if it’s a massive jump or not 2025 was going to be better regardless. And 2025 isn’t a massive joke but it’s a good enough jump that it was worth the wait for a whole year to get a new TV. I’m just waiting on Sony before I make my decision.
