Jasmine writes friendships with women so well, love that about her

I felt the same way about The Proposal. The back-and-forth got really tedious .... simple misunderstandings that could be easily solved if they would just talk.

You've definitely convinced me to push Home Fire further up my TBR! Goals are excellent to help you prioritize what you read, but sometimes life doesn't give you enough space and time to do everything you'd like to - focusing on the goal that you feel is more impactful for you makes a lot of sense.

As for favorite February reads, I particularly loved The Black God's Drums by P. Djeli Clark, The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin, and You Can't Touch My Hair by Phoebe Robinson. Each one of these made me want to find as many other books by these authors as I can and consume them ASAP.

Hi! I also read The Proposal this month and agree with you! It's fun but does have some annoyances (I often feel like this about romance novels). I just finished Beartown, and I was really surprised by how good it was! I know you just said that you don't like multiple perspectives, but I think this one is done really well because it's more omniscient than character-specific. And that omniscience really adds to how the story is told in interesting ways.

I really need to read Home Fire soon, it sounds like something I'd love and I don't know why I haven't picked it up yet! (Yes I there are 8374 others I also want to read, LOL)
