Audio jack is only a standard and if they wanted to create a plug which would take up less space they have the resources to invent it.

If they care about innovation, why didn't they switch to USB so long ago? Samsung phones has type C in 2016, even the Apple MacBook had type C at that time. Apple also contributed to help make type C.

i will never forgive the removal of the 3.5mm, finding a dongle that actually works with a fair price tag is almost impossible. not to mention it takes up the usb-c port. and at least the dongle i have, while featuring a usb-c port, charges quite slowly.

Headphone jack was removed purely for money incentives. They figured why include a port in the phone when you can sell it instead. I still refuse to ever get a phone without a headphone jack.

Modern smartphones tend to have less features than older smartphones, they are pretty much only better in terms of having newer processors, cameras and screens.

i don't agree; it did push the industry forward and wireless buds have come incredibly far but there is always a place and use case (in 2025) for wired connection audio in my life. bc bluetooth can't transmit lossless or near-zero latency audio in the same way, that space for a headphone jack is very valuable to me. USB C connection can absolutely also be used for audio but having two ports is very useful imo

Short answer: They could keep it. They should also bring back the SD card slot and IR blaster. Phone manufacturers are intentionally milking their customers because they know they can.

What if i don't wanna pay extra for expensive wireless buds/headphones? Hate it when companies expect you to pay even more after you spent a lot of money on their phones. I should have the option to decide how i listen to my music

Honestly nowadays I purposely buy older phones that have audio jacks because I use my headphones basically all my day besides driving and I can't image having to constantly change back them, not only that but normal headphones have higher quality audio then wireless ones, similarly to how Internet via cable is faster and more stable then via wifi .

With wireless the sound and lips when watching someone talk - like you right now - are rarely synchronized. I still choose wired to watch movies.

This is why i still used the old flagship cause mine have a DAC Audio jack and man it's amazing you can't do that on a wireless one cause you actually can tell the different right away

I love 3.5 jack.
Mic in wire headphones is better than in Wireless buds. You can use wire headphones in plane and places where BLE is not allowed.
Wire headphones much safe to use and they are not discharging.

I have wire headphones and wireless and I'm switching between them in scenarios where exact type of connection would be better. I still have 3.5 jack in my phone and I'm happy to have it and i don't want to upgrade to smartphone without jack.
I hate when phone has no 3.5 jack and has camera on screen and taking some space from my screen and covers content on screen.

And Samsung was also the second brand to remove the headphone jack.... How ironic💀
