Egypt church fire: at least 40 killed and dozens injured

At least 40 people have been killed and 45 injured in a fire in a church in the Egyptian city of Giza, according to two security sources.

An electrical fire broke out during mass as 5,000 people gathered at the Coptic Abu Sifin church in the Imbaba neighbourhood on Sunday, the sources said. The fire blocked an entrance to the church according to authorities, leading some worshippers to get crushed as they attempted to escape. Giza, Egypt’s second largest city, lies just across the Nile from Cairo

The fire seems to have spread too quickly for an electrical fire, I think it’s arson

The Coptic Orthodox Church is the main Christian Church in Egypt, where it has between 6 and 11 million members. While most Copts live in Egypt, the Church has around a million members outside Egypt; there are over 100 churches in the USA and a cathedral in the UK.

install loud smoke detectors? with LCD display? (batteries working? detectors working? checked?), + fire blankets?, fire extinguisher?
on each floor? + attic and basement ! more safety needed!
more exits? more escape routes? wide doors etc. much bigger doors and entrance
max 60 people in a church.
never 5000.
