RE Transmission: I had the same issues with my 2009 Suburban. The programing is setup for fuel mileage and it tries to get to top gear as soon as possible, so when mashing the throttle, especially at lower speeds results in a hunt as it's probably in 10th gear. My burb would fall flat on it's face at times if I mashed the accelerator hard and like you, if I put it in tow mode, it behaved like an old school auto. Turning off the traction control helped too. The nanny state electronic controls are too much...and that's why I got rid of the burb: The all aluminum v-8s where prone to burning oil after 40-50k miles because of the active fuel management and doing a lot of highway miles. It really soured me on GM as I had been a GM person for decades. This would burn a quart every 1800 through #1 cylinder. GMs fix is a revised valve cover/PCV and a windage tray in the oil pan. When my brother was in the market for a new truck, I told him to buy a ford, especially after your recommendations on the show and he did, a 2013 F-150 with the ecoboost. He's been happy with it and it's been trouble free. If I was in the market for a truck, I'd have to consider the Ford at the top of the list. Thanks for your videos and radio show.
